Tragedy, heartbreak, loss, sadness: it happens. It's going to happen, if it hasn't already. It's like losing. It's a part of life. And although we'd like to win at every game we play, that's not the case. We'd love to go through life without pain, loss, and sadness, but that's not going to happen. We've got to feel the lows so we can feel the highs. But no one really teaches you how to lose and no one really teaches you how to put together the pieces after life has fallen apart. So it's confusing.
Essentially though, we've got two choices: we can BECOME or we can OVERCOME. There's no in between, there's no gray area, there's no middle ground. When the time comes that we lose someone we love, or our job is eliminated and we are let go, or our health becomes severely compromised, or our mind begins to travel to dark places without reason, or life in general falls to pieces - we can become the dark space, the loss, the dis-ease, the pain - or we can overcome it. We can use it as an anchor that weighs us down until we become it or we can use it as a spring board to find the bright, the light, the peace.
The first step is deciding you want to overcome instead of become. And you're here, so you've made the choice to overcome whether you know it or not. Maybe long ago you became instead of overcame, and that's ok. But you're not staying there forever are you?
You've come to the right place. If your life has fallen to pieces, whether it's explainable or unexplainable, and you're in search of peace and light - you've come to the right place. You're here. Right where you belong.
But it's a mind-body thing. We can't just work on one part, without the other. Here you'll find guidance and inspiration for the overcoming in the form of yoga (for EVERYONE!), breath work (it helps, I promise!), words from someone who has been through it (me! And guest others), recipes (because feeding the body, feeds the mind), lifestyle stuff to make your days easier, and the occasional picture of an adorable fluffy 4-legged friend (because really, don't they just make you smile?).
We're all a work in progress, and we all will need to overcome at some point. Isn't it easier to do when you've got some help from someone who has been through it?
You've come to the right place to take your pieces and make them into something peaceful.
